The main difference between the diaphragm Filter Press and the ordinary Chamber filter press is that a layer of elastic membrane diaphragm plate is added between the filter plate and the filter cloth. During operation, when the feeding is over, the high-pressure fluid medium can be injected between the filter plate and the diaphragm, and then the whole diaphragm will bulge and compress the filter cake, so as to realize the further dehydration of the filter cake, that is, press filtration.

1) First of all, positive pressure and strong pressure dehydration, also known as slurry dehydration, that is, a certain number of filter plates are closely arranged into columns under the action of strong mechanical force, a filter chamber is formed between the filter plate surface and the filter plate surface, the filter material is sent into the filter chamber under a larger positive pressure, the solid part of the filter material entering the filter chamber is intercepted by the filter medium (such as filter cloth) to form a filter cake, and the liquid part is discharged through the filter medium, so as to achieve the purpose of solid-liquid separation, with the increase of positive pressure pressure, the solid-liquid separation is relatively complete, but from the energy and cost aspects, Positive pressure that is too high is not put into higher pressure.

2) After the slurry is dehydrated, the filter press equipped with a rubber extrusion membrane enters the back of the extrusion membrane and pushes the extrusion membrane to further dehydrate the extruded filter cake, which is called extrusion dehydration. After slurry dehydration or extrusion dehydration, compressed air enters one side of the filter cake in the filter chamber through the filter cake, and carries liquid water from the other side of the filter cake to discharge the filter chamber through the filter cloth and dehydrate, which is called wind blowing dehydration. If the filter cloth is applied on both sides of the filter chamber, the liquid part can be discharged through the filter cloth on both sides of the filter chamber, and the filter chamber is dehydrated on both sides.

3) After the dehydration is completed, the mechanical compression force of the filter plate is relieved, and the filter plate is gradually opened in a single piece, and the filter chamber is opened respectively for cake unloading. According to the different properties of the filter material, the filter press can be set up with slurry dehydration, extrusion dewatering, wind blowing dewatering or single-sided and double-sided dehydration, the purpose is to reduce the water content of the filter cake to a greater extent.
